A Historical Guide to the Steveston Waterfront children and the meaning of homeby Mitsuo Yesaki This historical guide summarizes the significant changes on the Steveston waterfront from the 1880s to the 1970s. These changes are shown primarily through maps compiled by fire insurance companies and the Water Works and Planning Departments of the Municipality of Richmond. Photographs taken around 1971 by the author accompany the maps for 1971, when fishing companies still controlled almost all of the Steveston waterfront.
